Business Requirements & Goals

As a hired TMP agency member, together with a Project Manager and Creative Director, I engaged in consultations with the Unitron product team to gain a thorough understanding of the project goals. To ensure clarity and alignment, I also maintained regular communication with developers, gaining insights into their capabilities and technical constraints. During this exercise, I explored exciting possibilities to enhance Unitron's online visual language. The primary goal was to leverage the brand's strong reputation and create unique, contemporary experiences that resonate with the target audience.

Core goals

  • Create distinct and intuitive user experiences for both hearing aid clients and medical providers.
  • Enhance brand identity and positioning as a leading hearing aid supplier.
  • Improve website usability and accessibility to accommodate a wider range of users.

Research

For this project, I worked with the research data provided by Unitron. I started by analyzing user information and their familiarity with the brand. This analysis led to the creation of a user awareness map, outlining the information that would be accessible to users based on their knowledge level. Guided by these insights, I developed the information architecture, followed UX/UI best practices, and produced a low-fidelity prototype.

Solution

Healthcare provider flow

To address the needs of healthcare professionals, I implemented a design approach that prioritizes clarity, professionalism, and information-rich content. Key design elements include:

  • Simplified color palette: adopted a more restrained color palette, focusing on neutral tones to create a clean and professional atmosphere.
  • Reduced use of color scapes: minimized the use of color gradients and transitions to avoid distractions and maintain a consistent visual experience.
  • Focused photographic direction: selected imagery that showcases healthcare professionals in action, emphasizing their expertise and dedication.
  • Detailed and informative layout: increased the density of information on the page, providing healthcare professionals with easy access to relevant data and resources.

Consumer flow

To create a more visually appealing and engaging consumer experience, I focused on the following design elements:

  • Vibrant color palette: introduced a more dynamic color scheme, utilizing a wider range of hues and tones to create a visually stimulating environment.
  • Color scapes: incorporated color gradients and transitions to add depth and visual interest to the website.
  • Situational and aspirational photography: selected imagery that directly relates to consumers' experiences and aspirations, helping them envision themselves using the product or service.
  • White space and visual storytelling: utilized ample white space to create a clean and uncluttered layout

Outcome

Although the project did not progress to development due to client prioritization, I gained valuable insights into leveraging a brand's reputation to create unique and contemporary visual experiences. Through effective communication with the client and rationalizing my design decisions, I learned the importance of clear and concise communication in the design process.
